DSS/RSL and DSD/RSD charge controllers

 DSS/RSL charge controller

DSD/RSD charge controller

        DESCRIPTION

The DSS and DSD (now called RSL and RSD) are microprocessor controlled series charge controller, with solid state stages and gassing/flotation algorithms. They have been designed to cover the basic niche market of small domestic installations without monitoring. Their ultra slim design (22 mm) and the material used (galvanized plate furnace painted in epoxy) give them a high mechanical and environmental resistance. They are automatic dual voltage automatic (they can operate at 12V or 24V without any modifications) and are manufactured in 30 and 50A versions. A new version operates at 48V with 40A. They are protected against:

        - polarity inversion.
        - output short circuit.
        - overcurrent at input and output.
        - voltage peaks in modules, battery and load.

We also have a version with a low voltage drop "diode" in the input (40mV @ 10A)

        INDICATORS

        Battery (red, yellow, green)

In normal operating conditions one of them is blinking indicating the battery state of charge. The red LED remains lit when the output is disconnected, while the green one is steady when the input is disconnected.

        Input (green)

Lights when the load stage is off. This happens during the floating phase, the equalizing phase or when there is an overcurrent at the input. When charging begins it switches off, a blinking will be observed.

        Overcurrent (red)

Blinks while there is an excess of current at input or at output. It remains lit when there is a short circuit at the output or there is an excess of current at input or at output for a long time. When this LED lights the corresponding stage remains disconnected until RESET is pushed. The red or green battery LED also remains lit depending on which stage has been cut.

        Charge phase (yellow)

Shows the charge phase using lighting patterns:

       - One blink/cycle:  FLOTATION
       - Two blinks/cycle:  GASSING
       - Three blinks/cycle:  EQUALIZING

The DSD model is similar to the DSS but with a display to show the information about input and output currents, powers and energies, battery temperature...  Clicking here you can download the user manual: DSS, DSD
